Masterplan concept for upgrades to the Brockman 2 Mine Site
Conceptual planning drawings + 3D fly-through animation
Brief + Proposal
CADDS Architectural were engaged by Rio Tinto to provide a schematic masterplan of a proposed upgrade of the central mine facilities at Brockman 2. The client required conceptual presentation drawings of the planned expansion, and any other material we could suggest to assist in getting funding for the project.
The expansion was sizeable, consisting of upgrading existing or installing new administration and office buildings, crib rooms, WCs, meeting rooms, the first aid area, MEM LV operating areas and laydowns, a 10 bay bus stations and shade canopy, vehicle service bays, the oily water treatment plant and water filling station, the fuel filling station, workshops, HV park-ups, a new shaded outdoor crib area, the redesign of all roads to accommodate the upgrades and the addition of footpaths for site safety and native planting for amenity.
As well as the presentation drawings, we modelled the site in full to create a fly-through animation of the site and some 3D rendered stills. The client was extremely impressed, and the project won him funding to complete the upgrades.
